Empowering Parents
Insights from a BCBA Mom & former Special Ed Teacher.
I’m a wife. I’m a mom. And I’m tired. But I know I’m not the only one!
“[W]hen we apply evidence-based strategies with compassion and creativity, we can unlock incredible potential and create positive, lasting change for all young children and their families.”
Chelsea Sioxson Laxa, MA, BCBA
As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), a former special education teacher, and a mom navigating the joys and challenges of raising young children myself, I understand the unique journey you're on. My professional experience in homes, schools, and centers, combined with my personal parenting journey, has given me a deep appreciation for the daily realities of family life.
I hold a master's degree in Special Education and a bachelor's in Psychology. This background, alongside my BCBA expertise, allows me to break down complex concepts into practical, everyday strategies. I'm passionate about sharing insights on individualized learning, understanding behavior, and fostering your child's development, always with an eye toward what truly works in the real world of parenting. My goal is to empower you with the tools and confidence to support your young child's growth and navigate their unique needs.
Beyond my direct work with families, I'm also the founder of a nonprofit dedicated to providing inclusive, recreational arts programs for children. This work reinforces my core belief: when we apply evidence-based strategies with compassion and creativity, we can unlock incredible potential and create positive, lasting change for all young children and their families.
